[Current Music |bye bye bye - nsync]

I figured I would post and fill you guys in on what happened since August 2004. Really guys, come on now! He's been busy...and getting out there. My sources are - http:www.essentialjustin.com and JMan's, because well, it's every Justin fan's headquarters.

There were a few new pictures around.
seeCollapse )

He did leave 'Good Vibrations' and that would be really effective if I could spell it, I'm sure. But he left the show to move onto "a better offer" is what he said. And I could possibly find the interview and post it later. But- he left the show and was quiet for a while, working in Los Angeles on his jazz cd.

Then came the news Mr.Guarini would be in New Jersey, or actually, he was in Atlantic City.

An independent film titled “Frankie the Squirrel” is currently shooting scenes at the Trump Plaza. The movie stars David Proval (“Mean Streets,” “The Shawshank Redemption”), Abe Vigoda (“Fish,” “The Godfather”) and “American Idol” contestant Justin Guarini (“From Justin to Kelly”). The film also stars Spock himself, Leonard Nimoy, but the “Star Trek” star wasn’t coming to A.C., according to sources.

He spent a few days, the 9th-13th in Jersey, filming his one scene. Here is where I give you the picture from the set and the latest bit of news about the film/tv pilot for the Sci-Fi channel.

gasp!Collapse )

Justin plays a character named "Keith," a highroller that "Frankie" (played by writer/producer Sal Mazzotta) encounters at a roulette table in Atlantic City. Frankie is a gambler, down on his luck, who gets some lucky numbers from a mysterious man, played by David Proval ("The Sopranos"). As Frankie and Keith play roulette, Frankie's luck changes. Suddenly, he's winning, he’s on top of the world, and beautiful women (always present at roulette tables) want to be with him. Who is the mysterious man who gave him the numbers and what does he want in exchange??

The show is in the vein of The Twilight Zone, and very Hitchcock-like. Adam West will be the voice of the narrator, taking the place of his good friend Frank Gorshin who passed away. Justin is in one scene but he is considered one of the principals in the episode. They had a blast shooting the scene at the Trump Plaza in Atlantic City.

There's no real news about release information. Rumor has it they want to film two other parts. One in Prague, the other in Philly. There's a Might on if Justin will join the cast in Prague or not.

Out of nowhere comes talk of his short independant, Tilt-A-Whirl. It's a short film with Chris Klein, Christina Applegate and Jonathan Taylor Thomas to name a few. Justin plays Customer #4, according to http://www.imdb.com

The movie is said to have premiered on May 9, at the Dances with Film Festival.

Last, but not least. He's doing more work with music education and supporting the younger folks. He lent his support during an NAACP leadership summit, a few weeks ago.

NAACP Leadership 500 Summit: According to a press release from the NAACP, Justin attended this summit, along with actors Kerry Washington ("Ray") and Rachel True ("Half and Half"), NAACP Chairman Julian Bond and Harvard Law Professor Charles Ogletree. The summit was held May 26-29th at the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort in Destin, Florida. Young adults were invited to the Summit to outline some of the problems facing minorities in the 21st Century. Given Justin's work with the programs to support music education, we are not the least surprised he would be included in this program

And there you have it. You're all up to date.

Good Vibrations, the Beach Boys musical that recently premiered at Vassar's Powerhouse Theater, is coming to Broadway. The tuner, directed and choreographed by John Carrafa, is set to begin performances at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre in early December.

American Idol runner-up Justin Guarini headlined the show at Vassar, where it ran from July 29 through August 1. Also featured were Titus Burgess, Heath Calvert, Tom Deckman, Elizabeth Fye, Geoffrey Hemingway, David Larsen, Julie Martell (Gypsy), Tyler Maynard (Mamma Mia!), Megan McGinnis (Beauty and the Beast, the upcoming Little Women), Nina Negri, Julie Reiber (the upcoming Brooklyn), David Resier, Jose Restrepo, Jonathan Richard Sandler, Krysta Rodriguez, Allison Spratt, Emily Toress and Haneefah Wood (Rent). No casting has been confirmed for the Broadway production.

Hey Beautiful People!

It's been a while, forgive me, but I just wanted to stop by and thank you for keeping "the world" turning! As you know, I’ve been a busy bee with the new show, and am going to be even busier as soon as this leg of the show ends. The next step with “GV” has yet to be determined, but it’s all good-in-the-hood for me no matter what. Thank you for the flowers and the gifts!!! They’re amazing, and really brighten up the dressing rooms. The girls from the cast thank you as well. You are so wonderful!!! I’m pleasantly surprised that you thought of them as well, they were impressed too! Things continue to look up and are only getting better. I’ve spoken to some of you about it, but I might as well tell you all now…I’ve put together a new team that is going to go about things the right way this time ( not to put too much blame on the last one…they did get me here after all) and in the next few months you’re going to see the beginning of things to come. Everything you’ve been hoping for and, let’s face it, everything I’ve been hoping for will take it’s first stages of development. Cryptic, I know, but it’s the way it has to be for now.

Keeping that in mind, I need your help. By the way, the ladies who made the business cards and the magnets…YOU ROCK!!!!!!!! Could you put together on the board photos of me with short hair that have a large enough resolution to be downloaded and printed. Keep in mind they have to be somewhat professional, as in press-line photos, press photos from events… or really, really, really, good “clean” (as they say in the business) personal photos. Sorry it had to be sans hair, but you’ll see why in a little bit. That would save me so much time, and believe me I need to get a move on certain projects. You guys have been so much help…I almost feel bad asking you to do more, but you’ll be proud of the results!

Well I’m gonna run, gotta go get ready for my matinee today. Thank you all so much for sticking around, I know it can be a bummer sometimes when the press or Johnny No-Name bashes me, especially when things are looking up…but you’ve got to realize that that’s the name of the game. They love you then they hate you…over and over again. I’m looking foreword to breaking that cycle by showing them that I love what I do, no matter what anyone says, and that all I wanna do is have some fun, make a few people smile and forget about the small stuff that gets them down (and believe me it’s all small stuff!!!)

All my love as always…BTW, I wrote that bio…love taking shots at myself, makes me giggle! I MISS YOU BRENDA!!!! I love you all and can’t wait to share more good news. LOL, my castmates call me J-Guar (none of them know that you came up with it, and I never told them anything about it…funny though isn’t it.) Lets hope that’s a good omen…year of the J-Guar!!!!!!

Peace and Blessings…and a pinch of hope!

and here are pics from after the show :)

New York Times (July 12, 2004)

Justin Guarini, the runner-up in the first "American Idol" competition, has a leading role in "Good Vibrations," a musical-in-progress filled with Beach Boys music, which will be given a workshop production from July 29 through Aug. 1 by New York Stage and Film at Vassar College, Playbill On-Line reported. John Carrafa, who is directing and choreographing the show with a book by Richard Dresser, said it was not a biography of the Beach Boys but a "hybrid, somewhere between `Mamma Mia!' and `Movin' Out.' ".

The first REAL media "snippet" with Justin's new hair! [Mar. 25th, 2004|01:47 am]
[Current Mood |ecstaticecstatic]
[Current Music |"Lion Sleeps Tonight" by Midnight Voices]

Justin is in the new (April 5) STAR Magazine!! As far as I know, this is still a tabloid magazine, so most of the articles in there are made up with very few facts. But people still buy them, so it's great that they have Justin in there! And I was pleasently surprised with the outcome! Here's a scan of it...

I'm so excited for this! Calling him "hot" "chiseled chin" and a "stud"!! It's amazing! He can't be called "mop-top muppet" anymore! He's not anyone's "muppet" ever again! And THEN sort of comparing him to Harry Belafonte! Justin, or whoever's idea it was to have his hair cuz, was SO right!! I'm DEFINITLY emailing Star and thanking them SO much!! Here's the email addy you can please write them at letters@starmagazine.com , let them know that we LOVE that they did a wonderful job with mentioning Justin as now being a STUD! We knew it all along, but for it to be said with the first media outing! Double exciting!

So Justin has cut the hair! It is soooo short! He looks as SEXY as ever though! So you won't hear me complaining, I loved the look of him with his hair pulled back, so now that that look is for good... yummy! He totally looks like a model! His strong features stand out so much, his bone structure is INCREDIBLE! Anyway, you can read about everyone opinions at JMans...

AND cuz I LOVE big pics of Justin, I blew each one up! Here's the links to them...

Justin didn't show... [Mar. 14th, 2004|06:52 pm]

[Current Music |Baby Blue by Chilliwack]

So there was at least one Justin fan at the Vegas club last night, and she wasn't able to find him. She asked around, but no one could confirm if he was there or not. SO no new pics, no new news. We're just all gonna have to wait til the end of this month to see him, which is alright with me.
